Our Origin Story
hen my mother passed away I went through her phone in a desperate attempt to find meaning in the scattered digital junkyard that is anyone's personal device - reading her archive of text messages, listening to her top-played songs, poring over recent calls, checking the recipes in the open internet tabs, and, of course, scrutinizing the photos she'd stored away.
This quest left me feeling guilty and dissatisfied -- the treasure hunt did not result in the beautiful, detailed, data-rich image of who my mother was in the way that I'd hoped.
Everyone deserves to be in charge of the digital legacy they leave behind. With this core memory in mind, I had the idea to build nostalg.ai.
